2A. Casting the heads at a casting company: $120 per single head, minimal quantity: 5 heads, i.e. not less than $600 in total.

Work order:

1. You provide me with a reference pictures of a desired head.
If it's a real person, I need front, side and 3/4 view. If a video is available it's a great help.
It also can be AI generated image or selection of images.
Or it can be a drawing/sketch/picture.
You provide me with the info on the size of the desired head, on the body it will be put on and the neck socket diameter, and also on the eyeballs size.

Disclaimer: you're responsible for the fair usage of copyright of the character you want to commission. I may decline the commission because of copyright issues, if I recognize a character protected by copyright, but as I'm not able to know all of the copyrighted characters, it's up to the customer.

Important: 5 heads may be too much for a single person to order, so you can organize a Group Order. In this case please choose a single representative person who will be communicating with me, to avoid any misunderstandings and contradicting info.

2. I create a 3D prototype in a digital form and provide you with the screenshots (front, side and 3/4 view).

3. You review the screenshots and give me your feedback. If corrections have to be done, please provide me with overpaints, like this:

After that I provide a screenshots of the corrected 3D model for the further review within 1 week (7 days) timeframe.

Important: you have up to 5 rounds of corrections included into the initial price. Every extra round of corrections would cost you additional $50.
In my practice nobody used more than 2 rounds so far.

4. After you're satisfied with the model, I print it on a 3D printer in gray resin and shoot you the photos and the video.

5. You have one more free round of corrections at this stage, because some stuff isn't clearly visible in 3D and is better visible in reality.

6. After you're satisfied with printed head, I sand it and prime, so it's suitable for the casting.

7. You pay me another $250 for this stage done.

8. You have two options after this stage:
8A. Buy just the prototype, and cast it elsewhere, so you pay for the shipping and get the prototype.
8B. Proceed further with me, so I cast or print the heads for you.

Important: I don't sell my 3D files with commissioned heads! Nor in Blender format, neiter in STL format! There is stuff that costs way more than $500, like internal structure of the head, and the head itself that can be used for altering and producing more heads.

9. If you proceed with casting heads at the factory, you pay me $100 deposit. After that I send the prototype to the factory. You specify the quantities (in case it's more than 5) and desired skintones from the selection of available skintones.

10. After the heads arrive to me from the factory, you pay the rest of the amount due for the heads, and the shipping to your location additionally.
Important: faceups can be ordered at this stage, they're discussed and paid separately.

11. After everything is complete, I ship the heads to you.
If it's a Group Order, I can ship the parcels to the multiple customers separately.

12. If you want to order a printed head, you pay me $120 upfront. I print, postprocess and sand the head, so it can be faceupped.
Important: faceups can be ordered at this stage, they're discussed and paid separately.

13. After everything is complete, I ship the heads to you.
If it's a Group Order, I can ship the parcels to the multiple customers separately.

Difference between cast and printed heads

Cast head looks like any ordinary BJD head.
Advantages:
- it matches my doll bodies in color,
- it has a smooth finish, matte surface and solid color,
- it's sturdy.
Disadvantages:
- it takes up to 4 months from the day I send the head to the factory to the day I receive it,
- needs quantity of 5 and more.

Printed head differs from usual BJD resins significantly.
Advantages:
- can be printed right away,
- can be done in small quantities, less than 5.
Disadvantages:
- has a certain level of transparency that reminds of a soap block or wax candle, that doesn't look good against solid BJD resins. If it's a realistic head with a lot of anatomy features, the only way to show that features is to cover the face densely with acrylic paint, otherwise transparency hides half of the features,
- is more brittle, requires a loosely strung doll and extra care,
- skintones selection is limited to white and "default" beige resin, as I don't work with pigments,
- has printing artifacts that are hard to remove, visible horizontal layer stripes from printing that go through the whole wall thickness, white spots, and so on.

Overall, the quality of a printed heads that I can provide is much worse than cast heads. And I won't be investing into this kind of research, as it's financially not profitable.
